Prepare to explore. You are the crew of HMS Adventure. Together we will set sail into the uncharted.

With so much history secured in one museum and so many doorways to other times and other worlds, Against Captain’s Orders promised to be exciting, enlightening, and perhaps just a tiny bit dangerous.

Against Captain's Orders was an exhibition like no other that took families on the adventure of a lifetime through the Museum’s incredible wealth of maritime history and artefacts. Aimed at 6-12 year olds, audiences donned lifejackets, joined the crew of the HMS Adventure and stepped into the heart of the action.
