The Creature Chronicles
About The Creature Chronicles
A digital immersive learning project for Years 2 and 3 (ages 6-8) raising standards in oracy and literacy whilst promoting teamwork, collaboration and creativity.
About the Project
When a primary school teacher finds a newspaper clipping calling for headline worthy ideas, a group of creative and imaginative children make front page news when their stories come to life.Â
Guided by the class teacher, pupils will engage with a vibrant character from an alternative world through videos and messages. The project's use of cutting-edge technology enables pupils to experience seemingly real time responses from the character who urgently needs their ideas and imaginations for an exciting mission.Â
Through an interactive website, video and text based communications, the children help a young journalist on her quest. The children's imaginations prove so powerful, they bring a creature to life; a creature so unique it’s sure to grab the headlines!
The project, designed to take place over one school day, offers teachers a creative classroom approach to oracy, literacy and collaborative learning whilst supporting pupils who find a more traditional learning environment challenging.
The project is best suited to delivery in a single classroom. Teachers will receive all the digital materials to deliver the project including an instructional video and preparation guide.
The children were very excited, the online resource and the advert made them believe it was all true which gave a real purpose to the learning.

It was a really engaging starting point and the way the day unfolded worked really well. The children really felt like they were making the decisions to follow the tasks and not do any work.
